Yamaha DCFIIISAPRO, 9' DISKLAVIER PRO
Concert Grand, 2001, $89,999.99
This piano is one of a kind! It was used by ZENPH Studios to rerecord albums by Glenn Gould, Art Tatum, Gershwin and more! It was hand-picked by piano experts for this task, then painstakingly cared for by Yamaha Piano Technicians who helped recreate the sound of Glenn Gould's piano or Art Tatum's piano. It was then shipped to the venues where those artists had performed to use ZENPH technology to rerecord the performances. Listen to Bradford Marsallis among others describe the process, while listening to this piano play!
The International E-Piano Competition in Minneapolis, MN has become a major event for aspiring pianists around the world. This piano was the one used for the finals of the very first competition in 2002. The finalists' performances were recorded using this piano and are still available here.
Without a doubt, this is the finest concert grand made by Yamaha at the time. With the incorporation of the Disklavier Pro system, it allows for virtuosic playback (as a high-res player piano) but also for high-definition recording! With new Yamaha DCFXENPRO concert grand pianos listing at $220,000.00, this piano is a great value! It comes with a custom-made flight case, but also with software, adaptors, and a very highly-prized set of replacement hammers and shanks! These are not just any hammers and shanks! They are a full, unused set of the exact hammers required for this special piano!
This piano has not only been "played" by Glenn Gould, Art Tatum, Gershwin and more, but it also took part in Grammy Award winning re-recordings of their performances, available through Sony. It has been kept in pristine condition. Yamaha was representing itself with this piano, and took care of it like none other!
The original control unit has been upgraded to a DKC850 and can be operated with an app from your phone! It can play PianoRadio, record, play-back, and connect for Remote Lessons all with the use of the free app.
Silent Piano is one of the features of this instrument as well! Comes with headphones.
Make an appointment to play a unique and amazing instrument! Or hear it play for you!
