Pianos for Sale!

Sometimes I forget to remind everyone that we actually sell pianos at Pierce & Piszczek Fine Pianos, LLC. So it's time for some advertising! We sell new YAMAHA acoustic and digital pianos, as well as technologically enhanced pianos.
What does this mean?
Well, YAMAHA, the biggest manufacturer of musical instruments in the world, has crowned us as Certified Dealers. So we get to sell their products. Acoustic pianos are those pianos that have strings and hammers and no electrical enhancements. Pianos, in other words.
And YAMAHA makes fabulous pianos! Their CFX concert grands are in concert halls around the world, used in major competitions, played by major artists. Many people don't know that YAMAHA started out as a piano company. They started winning awards with their pianos over 100 years ago, a trend that continues to this day. We are proud to have these high-quality, fine pianos in our showroom. Acoustic pianos come with a 10-year Limited Factory Warranty.

Digital pianos need electricity to play, so they are sometimes called electric pianos. The digital pianos made by YAMAHA that we carry are called Clavinovas. Clavinovas were first built over 30 years ago in an attempt to offer a reasonably priced, more portable piano replacement, that would never need tuning. Now imagine what computers were like 30 years ago. That is how far the Clavinova has come, too!

They boast wireless internet connectivity, up to 1500 different voices or sounds, often with a realism that would fool even the best ears. They record, play back, are MIDI capable, have amazingly high quality speakers for realistic sounding sampled sounds, piano-like touch. You can edit your performances, just like in a recording studio. You can download songs, do karaoke, and on and on. Very soon a new generation of Clavinova will replace the amazing instruments on our showroom floor. This will be a great time to get one of these instruments. Digital pianos come with a 5-Year Limited Factory Warranty.

Technologically enhanced? So, imagine a piano with the keys, hammers, and action of an acoustic piano, but no strings. The sound is sampled from a 9-foot concert grand. The feel and sound of a concert grand in a small package. These instruments are called Hybrid Pianos. Only a couple of years on the market, these award winning instruments provide pianists the opportunity to experience the real feel of a piano, right down to the vibrations in the keys.

Imagine a piano that plays all by itself. Connect it to the internet and it will play the music of your choice all day long. YAMAHA's Disklavier has been on the market for 25 years and has undergone several generations. The new E3 Disklaviers are award-winning technology in an acoustic piano. And they work in synchronization with live video as well! Experience live music in your home, played live by amazing pianists.

And there's more. We have some fine pre-owned pianos (note the alliteration!) for sale. You can find the details under Products.

And there's special summer financing available. And there is full piano service. Get your piano tuned, moved, repaired, refinished, refurbished. Most of all, stay tuned to all that is happening at our store. Art Crawl, Music Events, Art Gallery, Art Piano. I get dizzy just thinking about it all!

Mid-May, Might Be Marvelous!

That's a picture of my dog, Freddy, standing on frozen Lake Superior a couple of months ago. In the distance, you can see ice-fishing-tent/houses. Now it's May, and the ice is gone. But as you can see, Freddy is looking into the sun and into the future, towards the warmer time of year.

At Pierce & Piszczek, warmer weather means we are busier than ever! Our store has been host to 2 student recitals, an Art Crawl, and the biannual meeting of the Piano Technician's Guild. We had a store full of pianists and parents, artists, and piano tuners on 3 consecutive days!

I was particularly proud of how our store performed as a student recital venue. Angela Tengesdal's students performed in duets, sometimes one-piano-4-hands, and sometimes 2 pianos. The seats were all filled, many parents were standing in back, the students were able to play on a brand new C2X grand piano by Yamaha (shameless plug) and the ambiance was everything we could have wished.

We hope to host more such recitals in the future. There is nothing better than seeing children and adults show the fruits of their labors, using great instruments, performing in a great acoustic to a "sold-out" house!

I bet you didn't think this posting was going in that direction after looking at that picture, eh?
