![]() School is back in session, Labor Day came and went. In the Northlands last night, the temperatures went below freezing. People are back from summer vacations, there is more traffic at rush hour, and......there are concerts to attend! The DSSO starts its season tonight with a Piano Concerto, the 3rd one of Prokoviev! What great music! Last night, at the 2nd Friday Art Crawl, we hosted the Koinonia Trio. They will be playing a concert on Sunday in Weber Music Hall at 3pm. Admission is free! The best money you will ever spend! They are a fabulous group of musicians! Tonight, Alice Pierce, soprano, and Dr. Tracy Lipke-Perry present a concert of American Songs. All the composers represented on this concert are still alive! Pretty unusual, but also some truly lovely songs, presented by lovely musicians, lovingly. The recital has been titled, Passages, referring to one of the sets on the concert, but also to the theme - stages of life. Sunday, again, the Koinonia Trio, with Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schubert. The music jumps out of their instruments! Then, next Sunday, I will be joined by my colleagues on the Voice Faculty at UMD for French Songs in the Cafe. In the store! At 3pm! Come visit us for a free hour of beautiful singing, and that special je ne sais quoi.
